Rum Point Basin
- Location: Atlantic City Inlet
- Mile Marker: Mile 65.1 New Jersey ICW
- Lat / Lon: N 39° 23.150' / W 074° 24.510'
- Depth: 6-15 ft
- Description:
Excellent holding and all-around protection in 6- to 15-foot MLW depths. Follow the "stakes" (placed by locals) when navigating the entrance. Hug the port side to avoid a sandbar that extends from the sandy beach. The anchorage opens up with 8 feet MLW depth once you pass the last marker. Be careful when the current is running, as it will push you and you will need to power in and out of the mouth to maintain control. Expect lots of traffic during the day.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
