Follow these guidelines to maximize chances of being locked through at the end of the day:
- Transit time: 4 hours minimum
- At locks 1-2-3 (Chambly), please arrive at least 45 minutes before the last lockage.
- The times of the first and last lockages are not guaranteed. To maximize chances of being locked through, arrive early enough to allow complete lockages in both directions.
- Bridges Nos. 1, 10 and 12 are closed Monday to Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., and from 12:45 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- There are only two lockings per day during the fixed hour lockages.
- No overnight mooring in the canal on days with fixed lockage hours. See the overnight mooring page to learn more.
- Amenities:
The Chambly Canal National Historic Site is open every day from sunrise to 11 p.m. The path is maintained from April 15 to November 15 each year.
