VA: Great Bridge To Albemarle Sound, Temp Deviation

S168 (Great Bridge) Bridge, over Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AICW), South Branch of the Elizabeth River to the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal, mile 12.0, at Chesapeake, VA will be maintained in the closed-to-navigation position.
To avoid a potential bridge casualty due to the condition of the lower cylinder bearings on the bridge, the bridge will be maintained in the closed-to-navigation position from 4 p.m. on December 3, 2025, until 12 midnight on February 28, 2026.
During the closure, the bridge will open on signal for vessels at 2 a.m., 4 a.m., 6 a.m., 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m., 10 p.m., and midnight.
Vessels able to pass through the bridge in the closed position may do so at any time. The bridge will be able to open for emergencies. At all other times, the drawbridge will operate in accordance with the operating regulations set out in Title 33 Code of Federal Regulations 117.997(g). Mariners should adjust their transit accordingly and use caution when transiting the area.
