Mariners are advised that the Norfolk Southern Railroad Bridge V2.8, spanning the Eastern Branch of the Elizabeth River at mile marker 2.7 in Norfolk, Virginia, will be closed-to-navigation for essential repairs. To facilitate the replacement of mechanical and structural components, the bridge will be maintained in the closed position from 6 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, through 6 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026. The bridge will not be able to open for emergencies during this period.
Vessels able to pass through the bridge in the closed position may do so daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. At all other times outside the specified closure window, the drawbridge will operate according to standard regulations. Vessels may contact the bridge tender on VHF-FM channel 13. Mariners should adjust their transits and use caution when transiting the area.
