We enjoyed our 2-night stay at LoonAsea! The dock was dated, but the dockhands made it work for our size boat. Showers and restrooms could use some updating and cleaning. We loved the food and restaurant (the reason we stayed here). Live music all weekend, which we loved. Power was available on the docks. Lots of boats came in just for dinner and the nightlife, a few stayed all night. Ice was available to purchase at the bar. We will be back!

They didn’t have a slip for us when we arrived. There was some sort of mix up. They made it right and did a great job. Deck crew was awesome!!! Shower facilities need an upgrade. Food and entertainment were excellent!!! Will be back!

Danny the dockmaster did a fantastic job. It was very busy - he and the other dock hands were actually running on the pier to help people.

Dock hands were great but unfortunately the other visitors were not. My boat was hit while in the slip by another boat leaving damage to the side. Also saw 3 other boats almost hit it as well.

What a fantastic place. The dock hands were very helpful. Docks are in great shape. The restaurant served good food. The bartenders were so attentive. The only reason they did not get a Five Star was the WiFi. We could not connect anywhere on the boat. Even when we went inside it was poor. We will still go back!!

We had challenges communicating via VHF until I was in sight. They had someone else in the slip I was supposed to be in. Told that guy with a 2 night reservation to get out of the slip. Fortunately, my buddy, who I reserved with, had to change his plans. I advised the dockmaster I could take the open slip if it was his and save even more headaches. LoonAsea is a restaurant and I don’t know if transient reservations are a fit for their operation since most if not all are just grabbing some food. It’s a new venue and was a lot of fun. Maybe it’s just growing pains.
WG Editor Comment:
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We sincerely apologize for the challenges you encountered upon arrival. At LoonAsea, we prioritize exceptional customer service, and we regret that we fell short of your expectations during your recent visit.
We understand the frustration caused by the communication issues via VHF and the confusion with slip assignments. Please know that we are actively working to streamline our communication processes and ensure such incidents do not recur. Our goal is to make every guest feel welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive. While LoonAsea is primarily a restaurant, we also cater to transient boaters and strive to provide them with a seamless experience.
We hope you will consider returning in the future to see the improvements we are implementing based on your feedback.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

The restaurant itself was great. The problem we had was there were three boats, two in front of us one beside us. They blasted their music till just about 2:00 AM, making it impossible to sleep. I'm sure others were annoyed by the loud music as well. It's like they were competing to have their music heard over all the others. There were probably 30 or 35 people crowded on the dock dancing and being rowdy. This was probably between 11:00 PM and 12:00 AM. Then they did pretty much go back up to the restaurant. These were not slip holders or boat owners. They were lured down by the loud music. That many people on the dock was just an accident waiting to happen, which I'm sure the restaurant would have been held responsible. I know you can't control the behavior of people after the restaurant closes; but they had two dock hands there for a while. That should have kept the people from going down to the other boats. It was impossible to sleep. Not to mention, we were afraid people may come aboard our boat while we're sleeping down under. We like to have fun too, but I think after 11:00 PM or 12:00 AM it should be quiet time. We would visit the restaurant again during the day but are kind of leery about possibly staying there overnight again. Hopefully this was just an isolated incident.
WG Editor Comment:
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experience at our restaurant during the day. However, we sincerely apologize for the disturbance caused by the loud music and the crowd on the dock during your overnight stay.
We understand how important a peaceful environment is, especially during late hours, and we regret that your sleep was disrupted. We acknowledge your concerns about the behavior of individuals not associated with the restaurant and the potential safety issues it raised.
Rest assured, we take your feedback seriously and will review our policies and procedures, particularly regarding overnight activities and crowd management, to prevent such incidents from occurring again.
We hope that you will give us another chance in the future. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you back.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
