Little River R12

Lat / Lon: N 33° 51.507' / W 078° 33.175'
Description:
Anchor north of the channel between R14 and R12. Nice flat area around 11ft at low tide, plenty of swing room. Probably room for 10+ boats. Expect the usual big current swing. Dinghy to Bird Island or the island directly north for nice beaches and dunes. Beaches and channel are busy during the day, and there will be wakes the tour and casino boats from Myrtle Beach. Chill at night. Much more room than anchorage down channel which is constrained. Good signal.

Strong current and lots of crab pots that could get swept on the swing. The real downer was the number of tour boats and fishing charters going out the inlet leaving large wakes behind. A short dinghy ride to the beach was nice though. Good for dogs. At night it calmed down but early in the morning the ruckus resumed so we left early.
