  • Reviews Summary

The reviews highlight a generally positive experience for anchoring at the location, with several key points:

    1. Water Depth and Conditions: Most reviewers noted sufficient water depth, ranging from 7 to 12 feet, with good holding conditions for anchors, particularly in mud. Some mentioned the need to navigate shallow areas, especially at low tide.

    2. Protection from Winds and Wake: The anchorage offers decent protection from wind and wakes from passing boats, although some reviewers experienced rolling conditions, particularly during the day.

    3. Space for Boats: There is ample room for multiple boats, with some reviews indicating space for up to 4 large or 6 small boats.

    4. Overall Experience: Reviewers appreciated the quietness and enjoyment of the location, with some noting it as a great overnight stop. The presence of few other boats added to the appeal for some.

    5. Minor Drawbacks: A few reviewers mentioned the occasional wake from the Intracoastal Waterway and the rolling conditions, which could be uncomfortable at times.

Overall, the anchorage is recommended for its good holding, depth, and peaceful environment, despite some minor issues with rolling and wake.

4-10-24 We had 7 ft of water near low tide entering in the middle of the approach to the anchorage. 73 lb Rocna held good in mud on 45 ft boat with predicted wind gust of 40 mph. Room for 2 or 3 boats and protected by most winds. A sheriff idled through on our second day but just waved as he passed by. Some wake from passing boats in the intracoastal but not bad.

Anchored here multiple times. Great overnight stop. 8+ feet and good holding. Pretty goog protection from ICW wake but not perfect.

We have been anchored here for a few hours mid-day. While it "looks" like the perfect anchorage, it is quite a bit more ROLLY than I expected! Hopefully it settles down tonight.

Nice to find a deep, protected, right off-the-ICW anchorage at Pelican Cove in Del Ray. Entrance at near low tide was 8 ft. We anchored in 12 ft good holding when we backed down on the anchor.

Anchored here on 3/3/21 right in the middle of the lake. No other boats which was nice. We set the hook in 12 feet on 95 feet of rode. It was a breezy night, but we did not drag. The anchor and chain needed a good wash down from the black mud.

Great spot to drop the hook for the night, room for 4 large boats (or 6 small), great holding on the bottom. needed to clear a 4'6" bar at the entry then drop off to 6 ft.
