We left Saunders yard in Gulf Shores at sunrise and made Cat Island about 45min before sunset and watched a Beautiful sunset over Cat Island. We cruised at 9 knts most of the day. Don't get over zealous and try to get close to shore! The bottom comes up quick. My wife loved the anchorage even though we didn't have time to launch the dinghy and go to shore. Lots of dolphins playing as we anchored. Winds were out of SW 5 to 10.

Nice small marina. They have a store and restaurant with a bar but the restaurant was closed when we got there. Floating docks with concrete piles. Plenty of water on the finger pier; not the case on the smaller slips. It made a nice little stop over as we were running offshore Galveston to Florida. The rate was only $20 and it included electricity and breakfast in the morning.
