First time at MCYB, and it was a very good experience. Easy off, easy on to the ICW route, very good dock hands, docks are in good shape, good location for some really good restaurants within walking distance. Two marine supply stores within walking distance.
The staff were very accomodating when we went from a 3-day stay to 13 days to get a rental car and take care of some family issues. They generously changed us over to the monthly dockage rate retroactive to the day we arrived, and agreed to watch over the boat while we were gone.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

We were probably 150' south of the anchor icon on the map, trying to stay clear of the crab pot floats. Holding seemed very good, although I doubt we had winds above 10-12 knots the whole time. Nice and peaceful. Did not try to find any shore access. No other boats at this particular location, but several farther downstream, especially at Williams Wharf.

Excellent place for boat work of all kinds. I contacted them in fall of '24 about coming in in the spring of '25. Set a date and got in. Had the full bottom job done: sandblast, barrier coats, hard and then ablative antifouling. Several other small projects including installing new batteries that I purchased, and putting on Propspeed (first time for us).
They allow you to work on your own boat in the yard, which is very rare now. We knew the bottom job was going to be expensive, but had to be done. The channel coming in is shoaling in spots, but can be done. I have posted a nav alert on WG regarding this.
Reasonable labor rates. Good communication.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Great place! They let us come in just for a pumpout when the "other" marina downtown (where we had paid handsomely for a slip for 2 nights) made it almost impossible to get one. We will be back to Homer Smith.

No longer worth the money or docking in current. Their pumpout station is in a 28-ft slip in a narrow fairway. The outside dock that could access the pumpout is rented to a very large trawler. Nice that they do have courtesy cars for running errands. The bathrooms and showers are ancient.
