With a travel lift that can accommodate our 8' draft, we were delighted to discover that 3D has a dozen or so wet slips that they are willing to rent out. So . . . let's talk facilities. There's one toilet and shower for the entire boatyard. All slips, contractors and staff use it. Is it clean? Well . . . sometimes. You're supposed to clean up after yourself. Most people do. Some people don't. Bring shower shoes. The environment is . . . rustic. You have to pay in advance; the owner had too many tenants do a midnight flit owing him substantial rent. He will cheerfully refund any unused rent. 50 AMP power and potable water at the slips. Do you know how to med-moor? You're gonna learn! So why am I so enthusiastic? 3d Boatyard charges under $2/foot for wet slips with power and water. Under $2.00 in Key West. I've paid $7/foot in the recent past. If you want resort amenities, spotless facilities, and air-conditioned Captain's Lounges, there are resorts like that ALL OVER the island. If you're on a budget and just need reliable power, safe water, and shelter from the weather, 3D Boatyard is your place.
