Good stop for fuel and overnight but a bit of a hike for amenities. Easy in and out just past the Great Bridge.

April 29 2025 stayed overnight again. Good help with staff on docking. Grocery store is now a Kroger. Some fast food places in walking distance . Facilities are still the same as ten years ago but new laundry machines. April 10,11 2015 We stayed with another boat traveling North Strong storms were predicted and we wanted a safe place to stay. It met our expectations to weather the storms. Good help when docking. Many restaurants in walking distance and a very good grocery store about .75 mile away. Showers, laundry, and washrooms are what you would expect in a working marina.

The boat in front of us got the last remaining free dock space across the canal (4 total) so we fueled up at Atlantic yacht basin. We found them very accommodating, we were able to get a slip for overnight. The bathroom was very warm, and clean. They offer a BoatUS discount on fuel, and Transient slip fee. Very close to everything locally, including shopping, restaurants, and entertainment.

Atlantic Yacht Basin offers top notch workmanship for maintenance. It's a very busy yard. We have stayed along the face dock and inside the covered slips- all visits were excellent. Groceries and restaurants are a reasonable walk. During this last visit we had a rental car and ability to explore Chesapeake. Restaurants choices are great. Hardware store and Home Depot close by. Local transportation (Uber or taxi) meant longer waits than typical in an urban setting. Diesel pricing was very competitive.

Ran out of diesel while we were pumping, great price on diesel if they have fuel.
