Sunset Cove

Description:
Turn to port between ICW daybeacons red 54 and green 55 and proceed towards the beach for best depth and holding.
NOTE: Per Florida Statute 327.4109

The owner or operator of a vessel or floating structure may not anchor or moor such that the nearest approach of the anchored or moored vessel or floating structure is:
1. Within 150 feet of any marina, boat ramp, boatyard, or other vessel launching or loading facility;
2. Within 300 feet of a superyacht repair facility. For purposes of this subparagraph, the term "superyacht repair facility" means a facility that services or repairs a yacht with a water line of 120 feet or more in length; or
3. Within 100 feet outward from the marked boundary of a public mooring field or a lesser distance if approved by the commission upon request of a local government within which the mooring field is located. The commission may adopt rules to implement this subparagraph.
DISCLAIMER: The laws and regulations governing anchoring in Florida waters are complex and everchanging. If you plan to anchor, whether overnight or for an extended period, you should confirm whether you are in compliance with local and state requirements before committing to a location. We anchored north of the anchor logo in about 4.5' of water at high tide. Limited tidal swings means we didn't touch bottom at low tide. Great access to food (both store and restaurants) and a city park for our 2 dogs all within 4 blocks of Snooks and Bayside Grill. Bayside had no problems with anyone using their dinghy docks, but as usual, we did eat there a couple of times during our 3 day stay, but they don't require that in order to use their dock. Great boater friendly location.

Our Bruce claw bit with no problem. Plenty of room in the anchorage. A quick dinghy ride to Snook's for a drink, and they were fine with us leaving the dink while we walked up a couple of blocks to the Holiday Inn where the African Queen is berthed. A couple of other bars and then to Mrs. Mac's for a fine dinner before returning to Snook's for one last drink before heading back out to the hook for the night.

A good stopover and several options ashore for dining, drinks, & simple provisions.
